Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Since my 36th newsletter sent out in July we have had some really good hunts and managed to harvest these very good trophies for our clients from around the world. We are looking forward to the African summer that gives us those extra few hours of daylight to hunt in and promotes the movement of the animals out of the National Parks into our adjoined concessions in search of water and the green foods available in the hunting areas, of course the cats follow the animal movement so we should finish strong this year.

The buffalo movement from the Kruger Park and the Gonarezhou National Park into our Southern Lowveld of Zimbabwe hunting area is the best movement we have seen in years, lots of buffalo around so if you’re planning a buffalo hunt this is a perfect time. I also have lion, leopard, elephant, hippo, croc and sable left on quota for 2014.

For all of you that want to hunt trophy elephant bulls, please contact me now as indications are that yearend elephant hunting in the Gonarezhou area will be fantastic. Also remember to book now for early season/maize season elephant bull hunts for 2015.

These four different buffalo were hunted in August in the Gonarezhou area by clients from Hungary and France:

newsletter-37-buffalo-3 newsletter-37-buffalo-2 newsletter-37-buffalo-1 newsletter-37-buffalo-4

This hippo and crocodile were shot in Binga on Lake Kariba during August by clients from America. The Binga area is fantastic for trophy croc and big hippo bulls, also 35 pounder elephants and the occasional buffalo get shot there. We have a 100% success rate on hippo/croc in Binga for the last 3 years.

Any German speaking clients that would like to be guided by a German speaking PH please contact me. The second nyala and the zebra were shot by a South African client who also shot a buffalo that was featured on my last newsletter.

Thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter and pass it onto your hunting friends. Please email me if you are interested in a big game hunt in South Africa or Zimbabwe.

Its dagga boy season in South Africa, if you are looking for a great buffalo hunt then look no further than my Hoedspruit concession together with my local PH partners Philip and Daniel Oosthuizen I am able to offer you a top class Buffalo hunt in fact in my opinion this is the best Buffalo area in SA. This area is also top for wild Lion hunts.

Take a look at these 4 Buffalos that were all taken recently in my Hoedspruit concession: (I still have 4 Buffalo on quota and 1 more Lion in this area for 2014).

A special word of congratulations to Hennie and Dale on their first Buffalos.

Dear hunting friends.

As the hunting season gets into full swing here in Southern Africa it is my privilege to again update you on recent hunts since my last newsletter that was sent out in May. Also please look out for my upcoming newsletters, I have 5 big game hunts during July and 6 big game hunts in August including 2 lion hunts, sable, buffalo and elephant to mention but a few. Watch this space.

To all our valued hunter clients, PH’s, Outfitters and Agents please contact me for all your big game hunts in Zimbabwe and South Africa. I have dates and quota available in top areas. Zimbabwean PH’s Stephen Meyer and Talmage Alexander have again as they always do delivered these top results to Take Aim Safaris clients. I have openings available for hunts with Stephen and Talmage for this year and next year including what I would say is one of the best trophy elephant bull permits I have ever sold: I have 1 trophy elephant bull hunt available with these PH’s for November 2014 in the Chipinda Pools area of Gonarezhou (just outside the Gonarezhou Park), quotas are so low in this area that these hunts are hard to get. These boys have a current average of over 70 lbs per tusk in this area. Be quick or this one will be sold.

2015 quota on trophy elephant bulls in Gonas is available and will sell fast, for those of you that have seen my 2014 season newsletters you know what to expect from your own hunt.

These American clients that hunted in Binga on Lake Kariba managed to get these 2 fantastic hippo bulls and this 4.4 meter croc during their hunt in June.

Also on a recent hunt with Talmage and Steve during end of May 2014 we welcomed a great group of hunters comprising of father and two sons from Holland into our Matetsi concessions in Zimbabwe, amongst other trophies these hunters managed to shoot this very good leopard and this really big spotted hyena from the same blind on the same night plus this really good sable bull. Matetsi is well known world over for its top quality sable and lion. I have quota and dates available.

There is no reason not to book a hunt in Zimbabwe or South Africa, I have top areas, top PH’s and quota available and always will have. Agents, PH’s and Outfitters please add my hunts to your websites, brochures and pricelists. I have loads of references from clients, Agents, Outfitters and Ph’s.

A special note of thanks to Robbie Guthrie who guided the lion hunt featured in my last newsletter, it is an honour for me to be associated with Robbie and Ph’s like him. The good ones are excellent.

I want to wish my good friend and TAS client Matt all the best of luck on his male lion/sable and hippo hunt in July. When Matt completes his big 5 as he intends to do he will be my first client to start and finish his big 5 with TAS, a big party will be had on that day I have no doubt.

Matt already has his leopard (a monster that was guided by Robbie Guthrie) and his buffalo; in fact he has two buffalo, one guided by Robbie and one guided by legendary Zimbabwean PH Lloyd Yeatman. Seasoned PH and personal friend of mine Philip Oosthuizen will be guiding Matt on his lion hunt in the Hoedspruit area of South Africa.

Also want to wish all the best of luck to Brian from the USA who will be hunting a lion with Stephen Meyer from Zimbabwe in July 2014.

Thanks for taking the time to read my newsletter and for passing it onto your hunting friends and industry colleagues.

Hunters best wishes.

Dear hunting friends.

Please take a moment to page through our new website www.takeaimsafaris.com.

As the hunting season marches on here in Southern Africa we have again delivered fantastic results to our clients and in so doing continuing our 100% success rate for 2014 on trophy elephant bulls. The quality of elephant bulls coming out of our Gonarezhou concessions in the Southern Lowveld of Zimbabwe cannot to my knowledge be matched anywhere in Africa. For those of you that don’t know: The Gonarezhou concessions are well placed between the Kruger National Park, the Mozambique National Park and the Gonarezhou National Park these big game hunting areas are unspoilt and un-fenced as they have always been.

Take a look at these 3 beautiful trophy elephant bulls that were all shot since my last newsletter.

1.       This magnificent 81 pounder was shot by a German client on the confluence of the 3 national parks.

2.       The client that shot the 81 pounder also shot this 55 pounder on the same hunt.

3.       This 64 pounder was shot by a South African client.

I do have big game quota available for the 2014 season, any clients or PH’s or Agents looking for a big game hunt in Zimbabwe or South Africa please contact me for more information. To all our South African clients we look forward to seeing you at Huntex 2014.

Lots more hunts to come for the 2014 season including lion, leopard, buffalo, hippo, croc, sable and elephant please look out for our newsletters in the months that follow.

Hunters best wishes and thanks for passing our newsletter on to your hunting friends.

Carl Knight

Dear Hunting Friends

A short newsletter to share more early season success with you.

So far we have a 100% success rate on trophy elephant bulls for the 2014 season, we have conducted 3 elephant bull hunts in our Zimbabwe Gonarezhou concessions the first hunter shot a 60 pounder, the second hunter shot an 85 pounder and the third hunter shot this 72 pounder on the 2nd March. All during the daytime, there has not been such good trophy elephant bull movement in the Gonarezhou concessions as there is now in years. If your dream is to shoot a trophy elephant bull there has never been a better time than now. You can see pictures of the 60 and 85 pounder on our website in the trophy gallery for those of you that missed our last newsletter.

This very good buffalo bull was shot on the 3rd March in South Africa in our Hoedspruit concession that is adjoined to the Kruger Park.

I do have quota and best dates available in Zimbabwe and South Africa, for more information please contact me. Thanks for reading and passing on my newsletter to your hunting friends.

Dear Hunting Friends

Welcome to the 2014 hunting season with Take Aim Safaris, we wish you all the best for the hunting season ahead. Please contact me if you are considering a big game hunt in South Africa or Zimbabwe, we have quota and prime hunting dates available on most big game in top concessions in both countries.

The trophy elephant bull hunting season in the Gonarezhou Safari area has started, our first elephant hunt of the season started on the 14-02-2014 as I write this newsletter it is the clients second hunting day, this morning the 16-02-2014 our client shot this beautiful elephant bull with tusks in the 55 to 60 lbs range, this bull was shot at around 8 AM in the morning.

Newsletter 31 Elephant

This second elephant was shot on the 17 -02-2014 also in the Gonarezhou Safari, similar to the above elephant this bull was also shot in the early morning daytime hours, this bull looks to me to be in the 85 to 90 pound range. My partners in the Gonarezhou tell me that they have not seen such good elephant movement for years as they are currently seeing. Those of you that are interested in a trophy elephant bull hunt please pack your bags and email me.

Newsletter 31 Elephant 2

I recently read these three reasons to book your hunting trip now and thought I might share them with you:

  1. Price
  2. Physical ability
  3. Memories

A good way to consider when to book. It is true that prices are going up on big game hunting especially in Zimbabwe since Botswana and Zambia closed for hunting and Mozambique having problems of it’s own, these facts place hunt booking pressure on Zimbabwe (and other hunting countries) as there is only limited quota available.

South African buffalo and lion hunts are going up too not to mention elephant prices in SA that have gone through the roof. If you are planning to book an African big game hunt I suggest you do so soon even if your hunt is not for this year.

This magnificent leopard was shot by a client with Take Aim Safaris PH Robbie Guthrie, this leopard was shot late last season.

Newsletter 31 Leopard

Robbie Guthrie the PH that guided this leopard hunt has successfully guided over 50 confirmed kill leopard hunts, over a hundred buffalo and elephant and the list goes on and on, a more experienced African PH at 40 years of age as Robbie is is a rare find. Robbie is a career PH and has been guiding big game hunts for the last 20 years, he did an apprenticeship in Zimbabwe under the hunting industry legends Zimbabwean Meyer family and Talmage Alexander.

Robbie is going to be offering another series of his big game hunting school in Musina South Africa on one of his big game concession properties using the hunting lodge as participant accommodation. This is a big game course I can highly recommend to any clients from anywhere in the world that are considering a big game hunt in Africa this will be a 10 day course and is limited to a maximum of 6 persons on the course at one time. The course will cover all aspects of big game hunting including but not limited to: Calibre selection, shot placement, tracking, following up wounded animals, what to do and were to shoot when in a dangerous situation, camouflage, bush survival, fly camping, blind/hide construction, blind/hide placement, bait placements, doing bait drags, open sight shooting and scoped rifle shooting plus 4×4 recovery. Robbie is also a big game bow hunting expert for those of you that bow hunt this course is also for you. This will be an outdoor course teaching practical/relevant skills to African big game hunting.

Having known Robbie for many years and booked many successful hunts for my clients through Robbie, I can recommend his big game hunting school to you with confidence, if you are client considering a big game hunt yourself and wanting to get more confidence or a PH wanting to get big game experience don’t miss this opportunity. For more information contact me.

Many thanks for reading and passing on my newsletter to your hunting friends.

Dear Hunting Friends

May I take this opportunity to wish you all the best for 2014 and beyond.

Since my last newsletter showing pictures of the trophy elephant bull with one broken tusk that we shot in the Gonarezhou Safari Area with the broken tusk weighing 52 pounds and the other tusk weighing 75 pounds we have had more late season success in Gonarezhou Safari Area on trophy elephant by shooting this magnificent trophy elephant bull with tusks that weigh 72 and 70 pounds each a very symmetrical set of ivory.

The “prime time” for trophy elephant bull hunting in the Gonarezhou Safari Areas is fast approaching based on the rainfall we have had to date the locals say the maize crops should be ripe and ready for harvesting from March until June. The elephant bulls find this maize irresistible allowing for great bull movement in the safari areas. If you have been considering a trophy elephant bull hunt please email me for more information.

Also since my last newsletter we hosted clients from Germany at our Matetsi and Binga concessions on a 14 day hunt our clients managed to shoot this very big hippo bull plus a 4.2 meter crocodile and an elephant bull.

Also since our last newsletter we hosted a father and son elephant hunters from South Africa at our Matetsi/Binga concession where both father and son had late season success and both fulfilled their dreams of doing this hunt together. Take a look at this old bull….

To all our European clients we will be attending the Dortmund Hunting Fair during February Hall 7 stand D28. To all our SA clients we will be at Huntex 2014.

If you are considering a big game hunt in South Africa or Zimbabwe please email me. You can read more about Take Aim Safaris on our website and read past newsletters plus see trophy and camp pictures and area information. I do have quota on all big game for 2014.

Hunters best wishes

Dear Hunting Friends

I have just finished my 28th Newsletter (attached) and my 2014 area information and pricelist (also attached) I was about to send it out to you all however since completing the 28th newsletter we have had some fantastic year end hunts that I would like to share with you so I decided to send out two newsletters at once with my 2014 info.

The main feature of this newsletter has to be this 75 pounder elephant bull shot in one of our concessions along the Gonarezhou National Park in the Southern Lowveld of Zimbabwe, the left tusk weighed 75 pounds and the right/broken tusk weighed 52 pounds. If you are interested in a trophy elephant bull hunt please look no further than the Gonarezhou Safari Areas. This year we have hunted a 92 pounder, a 78 pounder, a 70 pounder and this 75 pounder plus many in the 60 pound range, our average for the year in the Gonarezhou area is above 60 pounds.

Take a look at this magnificent trophy elephant bull:

Also taken on a recent hunt in Zimbabwe during November 2013 was this very good elephant bull with both tusks weighing 42 pounds each, the hunter also shot this hippo bull and 3 meter crocodile:

Also in November in another of our concessions in Zimbabwe we welcomed a client from Spain who hunted these two buffalo bulls, one of them took 11 shots and charged before he was finally stopped.

During October we had a European hunter hunting with us at our Matetsi concession, the hunter managed to shoot 13 different animals on a 10 day hunt including these two buffalo.

Please contact me to discuss your next hunt in either South Africa or Zimbabwe, I do have quota for all of the Big 4 plus Hippo and Croc plus Sable and all Plains Game for the 2014 season.

Hunters best wishes

Carl Knight

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you all well. You will find attached to this email our 2014 brochure and price list with area information and camp pictures for all our concessions in Zimbabwe and also in South Africa.

As you may know Take Aim Safaris focuses on big game hunts in an ethical and fair chase environment by supporting a “conservation through utilization” approach to all/any hunts we offer and sell. You can be assured of honesty and integrity at all times when dealing with us. We are proud to offer what we believe are the best hunting concessions in Zimbabwe and in South Africa as follows:

Zimbabwe:

All the concessions we offer hunts in are adjoined to Zimbabwe’s National Parks that serve as feeder Parks to our concession areas. These concessions are 100% unfenced and offer the hunter a fair chase hunting opportunity with top class professional hunters that know the areas and the animal movement within the areas like the back of their hands.

Gonarezhou National Park in the Southern Lowveld of Zimbabwe is part of the Trans Frontier Park and is adjoined to the Kruger National Park of South Africa and the Mozambican National Park. We offer 4 different hunting areas throughout the Gonarezhou that are all adjoined to either the Gonarezhou National Park itself or the Kruger Park, you can read more about these areas and see camp pictures on the attached brochure or on the Take Aim Safaris website.

Matetsi Safari area is adjoined to Zimbabwe’s biggest National Park the Hwange National Park and is truly a fantastic place to hunt all big game, the area is well known as amongst Zimbabwe’s top hunting areas and is logistically very easy to hunt as you land at Victoria Falls International Airport where you will be met by your PH and take a short 1 hour road transfer to our camp.

Binga on Lake Kariba is the best place in Zimbabwe to hunt Hippo and Croc, there is no debating that fact. Lake Kariba produces the highest trophy quality crocodiles with an average of over 4 meter crocodiles having been consistently taken there for years now not to mention massive hippo bulls. We have a luxury lodge on the banks of the Lake that will suit any family wishing to hunt hippo/croc and also do some Tiger Fish fishing. If you want to hunt a hippo/croc look no further than Binga.

Nyakasanga and Chirundu are also amongst Zimbabwe’s top concessions and are adjoined to Mana Pools National Park to the North of Zimbabwe located on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River this area will leave even the most experienced and seasoned hunters breathless at the beauty that surrounds you, topped off with a 5 star hunting lodge this area is highly sought after by hunters from around the world and is highly recommended by me as a magnificent hunting area. You can read more about all these concessions on the attached brochure.

South Africa:

There has never been more wild animals in South Africa than there are now. This fact is thanks to South Africa’s approach to conservation and hunting, any hunter hunting in SA can truly be viewed as a part of the most successful animal conservation story in Africa. As a fenced area hunting destination there are perhaps less big game hunters hunting in South Africa than there should be, this is a pity as the South African’s have done more for conservation and species preservation than another other country in Africa and deserve your support as clients. When considering a big game hunt please consider this fact. We offer 2 hunting concessions in South Africa both in the Limpopo Province in the Northern territory of the country.

Hoedspruit:

Our hunting area is adjoined to the Kruger Park by an 11 kilometer boundary road and fence, our concession is a fantastic place to hunt Buffalo on their own terms where they have always been found, we also offer wild Lion hunts on rouge Lions coming into our area from the adjoining Kruger Park this is the best priced wild Lion hunt available in Africa today. Leopard are plentiful in the area with 95% of the Leopard hunts undertaken here resulting in success, permits are hard to get and need to be booked well in advance.

Musina:

Our Magorgor concession to the far North of South Africa on the Zimbabwe border is a beautiful area with mountains & rivers running through the concession and an abundance of plains game like Nyala & Bushbuck that have always been found here make this a truly special place to hunt with seasoned professional hunters Cecil and Paulus both of whom are 3rd generation PH’s to hunt this area. Adjoined to the Musina Wildlife Reserve you can be assured that this is the best that the Limpopo has to offer. Here too there is an abundance of leopard that are often seen in the day whilst walking the area, permits are difficult to get to hunt leopard but do become available so again please book early if you intend hunting a leopard in SA.

Take Aim Safaris has conducted over 150 big game hunts and has loads of references from happy hunters both local and abroad, you can book and hunt with us with 100% confidence. Here are some pictures of trophies taken since my last newsletter, this 4.2 meter Croc was shot at Binga and this dagga boy Buffalo was shot in Matetsi out of herd of 600+ buffalo, what an experience hunting a buffalo out of such a big herd is.

Book with us and find out.

Clients, hunting agents and PH’s please contact me to discuss your bookings and 2014 terms and conditions available to you.

Hunters best wishes, see you in Dortmund and Huntex 2014.

Regards and Thanks

Carl Knight
