Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Since my last newsletter on the 27th July we have had some great hunts to update you on, as you can see buffalo hunts are dominating my mid-season bookings with 15 buffalo bulls being hunted during the months of July and August between the different concessions I offer. My last newsletter had 7 of those bulls on it, this one has the next 8 bulls that were all hunted in the last few weeks. The next few weeks have more buffalo hunts plus roan, elephant, hippo and a leopard hunt to come so watch out for my next newsletter.

This business is all about reputations and repeat clients, this hunter from RSA has hunted an elephant bull on a hunt booked with me and so has his son, he returned this month to hunt a buffalo in the Gonarezhou Safari Area, thanks for the 3rd hunt booked with me Tok and congrats on this very good dagga boy that was guided by veteran Zim PH Nixon Dzingai:

That’s 15 successful buffalo hunts in the last 2 months with 1 more buffalo hunt to come in August. If you want to hunt areas that are fantastic for big game then contact me. I have quota and dates available for 2016 plus our 2017 bookings are open and going well.

As always thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter and pass it onto your hunting friends.

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Since my last newsletter on the 17th June we have had great hunts to report back to you on. Included in those hunts are some great buffalo hunts including two beautiful +- 18 year old dagga boys and a Matetsi lion. If you are considering a hunt for 2016 or 2017 please contact me as we do have dates and quota available.

Starting in Matetsi PH Stephen Meyer guided this buffalo and plains game hunt during June:
Newsletter 56 Pic 1 Newsletter 56 Pic 2

Staying in Matetsi a client from Europe hunted this beautiful male lion in the Matetsi ECA concession on the 18th July 2016, during the 18 day hunt the client and PH’s saw 5 different male lions before deciding on this male. We do still have one lion permit available in the Matetsi ECA for 2016, please contact me for more info.

We also have 2 leopard permits left for the 2016 season in Matetsi plus a few buff and sable.

You can read more about the Matetsi ECA and see camp pictures plus a map of the area by following this link: https://www.takeaimsafaris.co.za/hunt-in-zimbabwe/zimbabwe-hunting-areas/matetsi-and-binga/

Moving down to the South Eastern Zimbabwe Gonarezhou Safari Areas: On recent hunts our clients managed to hunt these very good buffalos:

On his 3rd buffalo hunt booked with Take Aim Safaris this South African client kept his 100% success rate by shooting this very good buffalo with Zim PH Simon Dzingai, I am very sure we will see you again soon Marius. Thanks for the bookings and congratulations on your 3rd Zimbabwe buffalo.

Newsletter 56 Pic 5

Another South African client booked our Gonarezhou buffalo hunt and hunted this bull with PH Nixon Dzingai who is pictured here with the client:

(Nixon is a career PH and Gonarezhou concession owner, Nixon guided our client to the 122 pounder elephant bull that was hunted in October 2015)

Newsletter 56 Pic 6

Yet another South African client took up our buffalo hunt in the Gonarezhou and hunted this buffalo in July with his two sons at his side.

Newsletter 56 Pic 7
These two buffalo were hunted by a South African client in the Gonarezhou area in July, these bulls were shot together on the same day in the same place. I must elaborate/share my opinion here when it comes to these two bulls: looking at my website buffalo gallery the last bull added was buffalo number 120 meaning I have sold over 120 buffalo hunts https://www.takeaimsafaris.co.za/portfolio-item/buffalo , more like 140 including the hunts I don’t have photos of etc and the “ones that got away” these things can, will and do happen.

These two “warrior dagga boy bulls” including this “helmet bull” are my personal favourite bulls to date. They look around 18 years old to me and are rock solid in terms of bosses in fact the horns are gone and/or worn right down…

This is wild/open area buffalo hunting at its 110% best.
Newsletter 56 Pic 8 Newsletter 56 Pic 9

This last bull for this newsletter was also hunted in the Gonarezhou area of Zimbabwe by a client from South Africa, another very good buffalo.

New Newsletter-56-Pic-10

As you can see we are enjoying great support from both European and South African clients, the latter all drove into the area from Beit Bridge with no problems.

We have elephant, lion, leopard, hippo, croc and plenty of buffalo left on quota in the Gonarezhou area plus dates are available for your hunt. Please contact me if you are interested in a big game hunt in either Zimbabwe or in South Africa.

I have hunted and researched the areas I offer you extensively, I have sold over 300 big game hunts. When you book your hunt with me you can be sure you are dealing with an industry professional.

Thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter and share it with your hunting friends.

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Since my last newsletter on the 30th May we have had some great hunts that I look forward to sharing with you.

A client of ours from Europe hunted this 60 pounder elephant in Matetsi with PH Talmage Alexander, yes that’s what I said a 60 pounder in Matetsi… Combine that with the 44 pounder Steve hunted last month and our 2016 Matetsi average is high, much higher than other areas not known for trophy elephant bulls and making our elephant hunts in Matetsi great value for money at around 25.000 USD including Cities export permits and 10 full hunting days, no pound restrictions on bulls, in fact the bigger the better is what we are after:

Newsletter-55-pic-1On the same hunt this buffalo was shot in Matetsi, so was this bushbuck and sable.
Newsletter-55-pic-2 Newsletter-55-pic-3 Newsletter-55-pic-4Steve Meyer guided another hunter on the same hunt who managed to hunt this buffalo, sable, kudu and waterbuck:
Newsletter-55-pic-5 Newsletter-55-pic-6 Newsletter-55-pic-7 Newsletter-55-pic-8The last two newsletters have been dominated by Matetsi hunts until Simon Dzingai hunted this bull with a client from South Africa, now this is an awesome buffalo, an old warrior that’s for sure:

Newsletter-55-pic-9Well done Jono, I love this bull.

Lastly take a look at this Gonarezhou gene on elephant bulls…..

This photo was taken in May 2016, this bull was not hunted:

Newsletter-55-pic-10If you want a chance to hunt a bull like this then contact me, of course hunting is never easy but this is what we have available in the best trophy elephant bull concessions left in Africa, the Gonarezhou..

As always a big thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter, and please contact me for all your big game hunting requirements in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Client, PH, Outfitter and Agent enquires welcome. Thanks for sharing my newsletter with your hunting friends.

Best regards and thanks

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope that you are all well and having a great year of hunting so far.

Since my last newsletter on the 3rd of May we have had some great hunt with the Matetsi area delivering fantastic results. Matetsi is a great place to hunt for so many reasons but to mention just a few: Game numbers are very high allowing for multiple viewing opportunities not only of huntable bulls but also herds of animals, also the sightseeing aspect of hunting Matetsi is good from the point of view that you will be able to see the Victoria Falls one of the wonders of the world plus if you book a few extra days you can visit the Hwange National Park the biggest National Park in Zimbabwe and a truly great holiday destination, the Falls and the park are both very close to our offered hunting concessions.

Binga is also a very good area that we offer and is located on the shores of Lake Kariba and is fantastic for trophy crocodiles plus hippos and elephants are found in good numbers, our offered Binga lodges are first class and ideal for hunting and fishing family and group holidays.

Please follow this link to see the Matetsi and Binga camps plus read area info:  www.takeaimsafaris.co.za/hunt-in-zimbabwe/zimbabwe-hunting-areas/matetsi-and-binga

On a recent hunt guided by PH Stephen Meyer our client from Europe managed to get these very good trophies in Matetsi and Binga including this very good 44 and 42 pounder elephant bull plus a great hippo/croc combo and some plains game:

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Since my last newsletter on the 24th of March we have had some great hunts in the Gonarezhou safari areas, including this 61 pounder elephant bull that was hunted by a TAS client from Europe with PH Lloyd Yeatman, this bull was shot crop raiding in the maize fields as you can see in the photo. These crop raiders cause massive damage to the locals fields, in fact one bull can destroy a maize field on his own in one night. The community “campfire” programs we form part of allow us to hunt these bulls on the local peoples land (only bulls come into the maize fields) whereby they get issued permits to hunt these damage causing animals that we in turn buy from them, the money the locals get from the hunt is used for sustenance including but not limited to school fees and school clothes, on top of the money they receive the locals get all the meat from the hunt, the meat does not belong to the Operator or the PH, the client gets the trophy including the skin, tusks and bones, this system works perfectly.

I must say that if hunting had to stop I feel that the locals would have no choice but to poison these bulls to protect their crops that in turn support their families. Anyhow I don’t want to get into a long pro hunting vs anti hunting debate here, these are the facts from on the ground where the elephants live and not from the armchair of the not very active “activists”.

This 61 and 60 pounder tusks elephant was hunted during April 2016 as mentioned above:

newsletter-35-pic-1-new

On the same hunt our client hunted this fantastic leopard tom cat with a pumpkin head that I put in the 100 kilogram class, this leopard was described to me as the equivalent of a 100 pounder elephant, I do agree with that.

This is a typical Lowveld leopard at its maximum size, they get this big down our way as there is mainly flat ground here, not many mountains to keep climbing and because of the abundance of plains game in our areas.

Congrats to our client from Europe on this monster cat:

newsletter-35-pic-2

(Of course it is very sad that nowadays we need to cover our clients faces to protect them from the arm chair conservationists)

The same lucky hunter managed to get this giraffe bull:

newsletter-35-pic-3

Also during April in the Gonarezhou Safari areas PH Matt Pilkinson guided another TAS client on this elephant bull hunt, this bull is in the late 40 to early 50 pound class:

newsletter-35-pic-4

Also during April Lloyd Yeatman guided another TAS client on a buffalo hunt, our client from Europe shot this very good Dagga Boy Buffalo:

newsletter-35-pic-5

Last but not least my sons enjoyed their first hunt with their Dad, we hunted in Musina and enjoyed a great few days together, we hunted on foot and managed to hunt this Oryx bull that we will enjoy eating over the next few months. For those of you young hunters reading this these young boys are hopefully (for me) the next generation of African PH’s.

newsletter-35-pic-6

As always a big thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter, please contact me for any big game hunts you would like in either Zimbabwe or South Africa. I do have quota and dates available on all big game, please contact me for a quote.

Lastly we have a lion on quota in the Gonarezhou that has not been sold yet, this is the first lion on quota in the Gonarezhou area for 8 years, there is a very healthy lion population in the area.
There are currently 3 rouge male lions killing cattle in the communal areas adjoined to the safari areas, the local community is angry as these lions have killed at least 30 cattle in the last 5 weeks. We are looking for a short notice hunter for one of these lions and are prepared to offer the best priced wild lion hunt available in Zimbabwe today, the lion is fully exportable, please contact me for more info on this hunt.

Please feel free to share my newsletters with your hunting friends.

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Our hunts have started for the year and I am happy to be able to report that we have had good success on trophy elephant bulls in the Gonarezhou Safari areas that as you know are in my opinion the best areas in Africa to hunt trophy elephant bulls, (and wild trophy buffalo bulls) these areas consistently produce elephant bulls of this quality year after year month after month, in fact it is fair to say that the hunting in the Gonarezhou safari areas of Zimbabwe is getting better and better.

There is almost no poaching in the Gonarezhou thanks mainly to the hard work of the National Parks Scouts and the hunting Operators anti poaching personal that control and patrol the Gonarezhou National Park and the areas adjoined to the Gonarezhou and KNP Parks that would otherwise be used as staging or hosting areas for poachers to enter the Parks including the Gonarezhou and the Kruger National Park that has many kilometres of unfenced shared boundaries with the Gonarezhou hunting areas, both these parks and the Mozambique National Park benefit from the anti poaching work the hunting Operators do. Without hunters coming to hunt here there would be no hunting Operators and no Operator anti-poaching units, we hunters are conservationists this is an undeniable truth.

I have said it before and I will say it again: In my opinion Zimbabwe is the number 1 hunting destination in Africa today, there is NO REASON why you should not be booking your hunt in Zimbabwe. Of course I believe that the areas I offer my clients are the best that Zimbabwe has to offer and below this text is why.

Without a doubt RSA is a wonderful country to hunt and offers hunters many different hunting options and an abundance of species to hunt, such habitat and species diversity cannot be not found anywhere else in Africa. I am able to offer you both South Africa and Zimbabwe so please contact me for more info.

This 70 pounder elephant was hunted by a European client of ours in the Gonarezhou area (Sengwe 2/Dumisa) during February 2016, the hunt was guided by Zim PH Nixon Dzingai:

Newsletter-52-pic-1

This 58 pounder was hunted by a European client of ours also during February in Malipati Safari area, guided by Zim PH Dean Green pictured here with PH Simon Dzingai:

Newsletter-52-pic-2

This 75 pounder was also hunted in the Gonarezhou area (Chibedziva), this one was hunted in March by another European client who was guided by Zim PH Steve Meyer:

Newsletter-52-pic-3

Hunters let’s be honest with one another here, these are all old bulls that have spread their genes and are age appropriate for hunting, just look at the tusk and body condition to help make your own determination. Of course we cannot promise 70 pounders to every client but you can be sure we are hunting age appropriate animals, you will do the same when you book with us.

This buffalo was hunted by a client from RSA and to be honest not recently but until now I have not had a photo of the buffalo and have not been able to share it with you so I am doing so now. The buffalo was hunted in the Gonarezhou safari areas guided by Zim PH Simon Dzingai.

This hard boss bull measured and un-believable 51 inches in horn width and is age appropriate for hunting. Can this be done again? Would you have said it was possible in the first place? Same story as the 122 pounder we hunted last year? You need to book with us and come hunt your bull.

Newsletter-52-pic-4

Thanks for taking the time to read my newsletters, I do have quota and hunting dates available on all big game including elephant, leopard, buffalo, lion, hippo, croc, sable and plains game in top concessions in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Clients, agents, PH’s and Outfitters please contact me for more info on our hunts.

With the USA stopping the import of lion trophies into the USA there is a fair amount of 2016 lion hunting quota available, please contact me for a fair priced lion hunt, this may be the year I get my own lion.

For all our RSA clients please visit us at Huntex Hall 4 stand #416 from the 14th to the 17th of April 2016.

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope that you are all well and that you enjoyed the festive season, I wish you all the best for 2016 and beyond.

Welcome to Take Aim Safaris 51st newsletter:

My last newsletter was sent out on the 21st of November 2015, since then not much hunting has happened to update you on as December is the period we close for the year although I did personally guide one last hunt for the year and that was an elephant bull hunt in South Africa at the start of December. The client on the hunt was my now good friend Matt, he and his family have hunted with me many times, by taking this elephant bull Matt moves one step closer to taking his African dangerous 7 in fact he now has 6 of the 7.

Well done Matt and thanks for another great hunt.

NL51pic1

Have you ever wondered what the best country in Africa is to hunt elephant? The answer is complicated (for some people) also subject to opinion and debate however for me the answer is clear and simple the best country to hunt elephant in is Zimbabwe. Why? There are more elephant in Zimbabwe than there are in any other country that is open for elephant hunting in fact only Botswana claims to have more elephant than Zimbabwe and Botswana is closed for hunting. Of course genetics play a role when it comes to trophy quality, here again Zimbabwe comes up on top with the biggest bulls in Africa CURRENTLY and consistently being hunted in Zimbabwe . Now without giving my opinion too much rather let’s stick to the facts and leave it at this: There are more elephants in Zimbabwe than any other country in Africa where elephants can be hunted.

If you want to book a hunt for a big elephant for yourself or for your client then let me give you 3 current reasons (when I say current I mean current and not what happened 5, 10 or 20 years ago) why you should book your hunt with me for the Gonarezhou Safari areas in Zimbabwe.

Here are the top 3 awards (my top 3 reasons for you to consider) for the biggest elephants shot in Zimbabwe during 2015, the awards were issued by the Zimbabwean Professional Hunters Association to the Zim PH’s that guided the hunts.

NL51pic2

1. Biggest elephant shot in Zimbabwe for 2015 was shot by a client whose hunt I booked. This is also the biggest elephant shot in Africa in living memory, the tusks weighed 122 and 120 pounds.

NL51pic3

2. Biggest elephant shot out of a safari area was also shot by one of my clients, tusks weighed 86 and 84 pounds.

NL51pic4

3. Best elephant out of 3 award. These tusks weighed 84 and 81 pounds. When you book with me you will hunt the best trophy bull elephant concessions available in Africa today.

The Zim PH’s that guided these hunts were Nixon Dzingai and Luke Swartz, all three bulls were shot in 2015.

I only book my clients into top concessions with top PH’s that know the areas they hunt and the animals in the areas like the backs of their hands, in most cases these PH’s have lived in these areas all their lives. If you are planning a hunt for 2016 then please contact me for a quote, you can be sure you will get not only the best PH and area for your hunt but a reliable office and booking service also.

For 2016 I have quota and dates available on all big game including the big 5 plus hippo and croc, sable, roan and all other plains game in the best concessions RSA and Zimbabwe have to offer. Clients, PH’s, Outfitters and Agents please contact me for all your RSA and Zimbabwe hunt bookings.

Thanks for passing my newsletter onto your hunting friends.

Visit us in Dortmund, Salzburg, Hungary and Huntex (RSA), feel free to contact me for more info.

Dear Hunting Friends

As always I hope this newsletter finds you well.

This newsletter is a personal milestone for me being my 50th, I want to take this opportunity to thank all the clients who have booked with me and either hunted with me personally or my PH partners. Also a big thanks to all the PH’s that guided them all of whom have devoted their lives to the preservation and conservation of African animals through their responsible hunting efforts. Thank you.

I attribute the success of Take Aim Safaris to me offering my clients the best fair chase hunting safaris in the best hunting concessions that Zimbabwe and RSA have to offer on hunts guided by whom I sincerely believe are the best Professional Hunters in Southern Africa today. Having now sold many hundreds of hunts to hunters from all over the world the results I consistently produce for my clients are available for all to see in the form of the photos in my online galleries and the newsletters on my website that don’t lie and bear testament to my comments. Please feel free to read past newsletter #1 to 50 on my website.

My 50th newsletter is full of great hunts recently conducted including this 65 and 61 pounder elephant bull hunted in Malipati Safari area Gonarezhou by a client from Europe with PH Nixon Dzingai plus this 43 inch wild sable hunted in Matetsi with PH Talmage Alexander and loads of other great hunts, please read on. This is as solid a newsletter as you will see anywhere in Africa from any Outfitter company, a gentle reminder that when book your hunt with me you will get the hunt you booked in the best area for the species you wish to hunt with no nonsense in between or after your hunt.

My 2016 prices are now available on my website together with area information and camp pictures, please feel free to email me any hunt enquiries you have and remember that early season trophy elephant bull hunts in the Gonarezhou Safari areas are always fantastic, same for buffalo.

What remains is for me to update you on recent hunts and wish you a fantastic festive season ahead, here is my version of a Zimbabwean Christmas tree:

The hunts below this text were guided by Talmage Alexander between Matetsi and Binga in the last 2 months, as you can see Talmage has been hunting hard. The Matetsi and Binga concessions we offer are top class and full of game, logistically very easy to hunt Matetsi and Binga as they are both near the Victoria Falls international airport. Another big draw card is the Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park, we can show you both after your hunt.

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Some of you may know by now about this elephant bull that hit the world press and even made it onto CNN, some say that this bull is the biggest bull shot in Africa in the last 50 years, I can’t say for sure but I don’t remember any bigger bull being hunted in my life time. The international media has followed this story and attempted to turn this story into Cecil the elephant.

The international media and the beloved GREENIES from whom I have had numerous death threats since this bull was hunted with all due respect don’t know SHIT about conservation or African animals, they get emotional when they see a photo of a dead animal and thats all, they do nothing for conservation in most cases and could care less about the animals just as long as they aren’t being hunted. Hunters are true conservationists. I have never sold a hunt to a hunter that hunts because he or she hates animals, we all love animals, I have never sold a hunt to a hunter that would kill an animal to the detriment of the species, neither has any Outfitter or PH I know, in fact that hunter does not exist.

I have been repeatedly called by the world press about this elephant: USA, England, Germany, RSA you name it, all of whom wanting to sensationalise this hunt and drill us hunters, they wanted the name of the hunter so they could “name and shame him” I refused and still do refuse to name the hunter. The shame is theirs for their blatant ignorance and I know they are reading this. I had to take down my website for some days whilst this shit storm was going on. For the record my website and all photos on my site are copyright protected. We hunters are under attack…

Consider this isolated example Mr. Greenie: The Transfrontier Park incorporating the Gonarezhou National Park (where we hunt), the Mozambique National Park and the Kruger National Park have an accurate estimated elephant population of 40.000 elephants combined as the Transfrontier Park, we get +-30 elephant bulls on quota per annum shared between the 4 Gonarezhou hunting concessions spanning over 300.000 hectares, Mozambique and the Greater KNP (ANPR) I estimate get the same amount of elephant to hunt on quota per annum thats 90 bulls and only bulls that can be hunted from a population of 40.000 elephants how much damage do you think we are doing?

There are way too many elephants in the areas they exist, I am not saying that elephants are not under threat across Africa, perhaps higher in Africa where hunting was closed the elephant populations were hammered by poachers that moved in when the hunting companies pulled out and the hunting concession anti-poaching units stopped as a result, yes the Outfitters do the anti poaching in the hunting areas. Consider that in order for a poacher to get into a National Park to poach he would first have to get through the adjoining hunting concession, not easy whilst hunting Operators are on the ground, hunting Operators also keep Parks patrols under their watchful eye.

Now let’s be clear: I am no expert but I am rational, I GREW UP HERE in Southern Africa AND HAVE LIVED HERE ALL MY LIFE, rewind 30 years to when I was 12 years old visiting these areas with my father a hunter before me, Botswana was a forest, so was Hwange and the Gonarezhou so was the Kruger in fact they all had massive trees and huge amounts of tree flora to support the 25% of what we have now Southern African elephant population, fast forward to today and these areas are under huge pressure, the tress are all but gone, there is almost no baobabs left in the Gonarezhou, whats left is small shrubs and broken down trees that took hundreds if not thousands of years to grow, same in Hwange, KNP and Botswana now let’s fast forward another 30 years from today when we have 4 times as many elephants as we do today living in the same geographic area if not a smaller area as their roaming areas are diminishing due to human population, where will we be then? My opinion is the elephants will all be dead due to starvation and soil erosion if we leave them to destroy their habitat as they are, and with them all the smaller game, buffalo, lion, leopard etc also all dead or under threat and who shall we thank? The Greenies who in their armchair conservation wisdom and armchair journalism wisdom won’t let us cull OUR OWN animals or they withdraw investment to our National Parks etc.

You tell me who the killers are? For the most part the Greenies have never even been to Africa never mind seen an elephant, they don’t talk our language nor understand our culture. Yes I am perhaps getting too involved here but I have had personal death threats and threats against my family all week since this elephant was legally hunted, I have shut down my website and turned off my phone, all I have ever done is loved Africa and our animals same as you have my hunting friends.

To the press:
Did I book this elephant hunt? Yes
Do I regret that? No
Was I the PH? No that honour belongs to Nixon Dzingai
Will I tell you who the hunter was? Never
Do I think it can be done again? 110%

You say a bull like this has more tourism value than hunting value, that is bullshit he was a 55 to 60 year old bull the bottom jaw molars were all but worn down, he had spread his gene for the last 30 years, tusks like that don’t grow in 30 or 35 years if you think that they do then you better hit the books or better yet actually get out of your armchair and do some on the ground research.  Parks entrance fee to try and view this bull is 10 USD per person a hunt like this cost 40.000 USD you do the maths, the Gonarezhou does not have that many visitors in a decade.

The bulk of the money 70% plus paid to hunt this bull and all other elephant bulls hunted in Zimbabwe and all other hunts in Zimbabwe goes to National Parks and “Campfire” community development projects for schools, roads, hospitals and compensation to the local villages whose maize, sugarcane and other crops get destroyed by these bulls year after year, the meat from the hunts gets eaten in every instance from tail to trunk. These are the facts and moreover I could care less if you Greenies and international press believe me or not.

I have always found it interesting that Greenies 99% of the time eat meat and enjoy the finer comforts like leather seats in their home, office and in their cars perhaps they feel those grew on trees? At the same time they think that their leather shoes, leather handbags and leather belts grew on trees? Allow us hunters to do the real work when it comes to conservation and provision of food for our family, without us that are prepared to kill to live you too would starve to death.

Anyhow that said I approach my career as a Professional Hunter and Hunting Outfitter as a person that loves animals and with the heart of a conservationist if that ever changes I will close my business and stop hunting on that day.

From my point of view I am happy to agree to disagree with the Greenies, you stay behind your desk and I will stay in the African bush.

Here are the photos of the bull our client from Europe hunted, the tusks weighed 122 and 120 pounds per side = a total tusk weight of 242 pounds. (Person in photo is camp manager):

Some “experts” will say this bull was pure luck and this can never be repeated, in my mind those same “experts” would have said this hunt was not possible in the first place. The truth is these big bulls are out there and they can be legally hunted, the place to do that is the Gonarezhou about that I have no doubt. The other place would be Kruger but that is not possible in RSA due to permit restrictions on tusk weight. If you think this will never happen again then I disagree with you, the Gonarezhou harvests massive elephant bulls every year this is the second 100 + pounder in the last 3 years, many in the 80 and 90 pound range are successfully hunted every year. If you want a chance at one of these trophy bulls then contact me for your booking.

On another recent hunt in the Gonarezhou a client of mine managed to hunt this very good tom leopard:

Also this 45 inch hard boss buffalo:

The same client who shot the leopard and buffalo also shot a very good kudu bull and this very good hippo bull:

Also on recent hunts since my last newsletter more South African clients booked their buffalo hunts in Zimbabwe, here are some photos of those RSA client hunts conducted between Matetsi and Gonarezhou with PH’s Simon Dzingai, Talmage Alexander and Stephen Meyer:

As you can see the late season buff hunts have been fantastic, the buff movement is really great at the moment in Matetsi and Gonarezhou, we do have late season dates open if you are planning a last minute booking.

I still have 2 elephant bull hunt permits left for the Gonarezhou for this year, please contact me if you are interested in booking.

As always thanks for taking the time to read my newsletters and share them with your hunting friends.

To all my German and Austrian clients please take a look at my recently updated and translated German website.

STATEMENT FROM ZIMBABWE PARKS AND WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

TROPHY ELEPHANT WAS HUNTED IN MALIPATI SAFARI AREA NOT GONAREZHOU

On the 7th of October 2015, an adult male elephant was hunted as a trophy by a foreign client through a locally registered safari company in Malipati Safari area. The elephant had tusks weighing 55 and 54 kilogrammes respectively. Contrary to social media reports which are misleading alleging that the elephant in question was hunted in in Gonarezhou National Park. Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority further dismisses the report as false and malicious since Zimparks does not allow trophy hunting in a National Park.

In Zimbabwe hunting is legally permitted in the following land tenure categories, State safari areas and gazetted indigenous forests, in communal areas under the Communal Areas Management Programmes for indigenous Resources (CAMPFIRE) and on private land. Malipati Safari Area, is part of the Parks and Wildlife Estate, located in the south eastern part of the country and adjacent to Gonarezhou National Park. Currently, Malipati Safari Area is being leased out to the Chiredzi Rural District council under the CAMPFIRE arrangements where communities will benefit from revenue generated from wildlife based projects including hunting in the area. Such hunts go a long way in assisting communities in the surrounding area.

The elephant population of Gonarezhou-Malipati complex is estimated of 11 452 elephants from the 2014 aerial survey. Malipati safari area is allocated sustainable quota and hunting permit for all wildlife species including elephants on annual basis.

Zimbabwe subscribes to the principle of sustainable utilization of its natural resources, including consumptive and non-consumptive utilization of wildlife. Wildlife utilization programmes and projects generate revenue that is used to develop local community areas and contribute to the improvement of living standards of local communities that live with wildlife or adjacent to protected areas and to support conservation programmes.

Dear Hunting Friends

I hope this newsletter finds you well.

Since my last newsletter on the 10th of August we have had some great hunts as you can see below, in fact I suppose it’s fair to say its “Dagga Boy” season… here are some photos from the hunts. I do have dates and quota available for all big game hunts for the remainder of the 2015 and the 2016 season. I have just returned from the Gonarezhou where the buffalo, elephant and leopard movement is excellent at the moment. We have hippo and croc left in Binga plus a few elephants and sable in Matetsi.

Here is a photo of me stuck in the mud after shooting a buffalo just north of the Gonarezhou, good sports….
