DEAR HUNTING FRIENDS

I hope this 96th edition of the Take Aim Safaris newsletter finds you well.

In this newsletter I would like to tell you about a fantastic hunt that I just completed in Arnhem Land, Australia and a mid-season update on hunts that are ongoing at our property in Botswana, Lotsane Safaris.

AUSTRALIA

In June my son and I hunted in Arnhem Land, Australia it was an excellent hunt in remote wilderness, I was not sure what to expect when I booked as growing up hunting in Africa has given me a lifetime of 1st class hunting, I must say that hunting in Australia was awesome and offered great value for money with lots of shooting opportunities, I could have hunted many more animals than I did, there is no shortage of animals available, I can highly recommend hunting buffalo, wild boars and scrub bulls in Australia and I am please to be able to offer you these hunts.

I have personally hunted the big 5 African animals and guided and sold the big 5 hunts many times, additionally, from an international hunting perspective / hunting outside of Africa I have done some great hunts, I hunted successfully in Siberia/Russia for brown bear, I also hunted successfully in Hungary for red stag and wild boar, this Australia hunt was the best of my international hunts outside of Africa, the terrain, the climate, the buffalos and scrub bulls plus wild boars that were all plentiful made it an awesome hunt, the buffalo were not easy to hunt as they are very awake to hunters approaching on foot, they see and smell very well and should definitely be considered as dangerous game, in addition to the buffalos hunting scrub bulls/wild cattle is a great hunt, they are huge and are wide awake, a great hunt… I highly recommend hunting in Australia.

I have long been planning to expand the Take Aim Safaris hunt offering to include Australia, specifically free-range buffalo hunting in the Northern Territory of Australia, in fact my family and I own a small farm and homestead in the Northern Territory of Australia.

After booking and doing this hunt in Australia I negotiated a marketing agreement with the local Darwin based operator that I booked with to offer you, my clients these Australian buffalo, wild boar and scrub bull hunts, please read on below for more information about the hunt and please contact me for more information, these buffalo hunts are much cheaper than African buffalo hunts considering that on these hunts you can shoot 3 buffalos for the price of 1 cape buffalo in Africa, cheaper yes but not less exciting and equally a wild safari adventure, if not more remote.

DOWNLOAD ARNHEM LAND PRICELIST

7-DAY BUFFALO HUNT – EURO 13,500

(Prices in Euro)

Included in the hunt is a 7-day buffalo hunt with 2 travel days and 5 hunting days plus either of the two package options offered below.

OPTION 1 

  • 1 Gold class buffalo bull in the 90 SCI point and above range.
  • 1 Sliver class buffalo bull in the 75 to 90 SCI point range.

OPTION 2 

  • 3 Sliver class buffalo bulls in the 75 to 90 SCI point range, including broken horn bulls and old worn-down horn bulls.

When I hunted this area, I took option 2 and found it to be very good value for money, 7-day hunt and 3 buffalo were included in the package price and I hunted a scrub bull for the add on price. I enjoyed the road travel days as much as the hunting days, crossing rivers and the Arnhem Land scenery was amazing, I will be going again next year.

ADDITIONAL ANIMALS CAN BE HUNTED AT THESE PRICES 

  • Gold Class Buffalo –  4.400 Euro
  • Silver Class Buffalo –  2.200 Euro
  • Scrub Bull / Wild Ox –  1.850 Euro
  • Wild Boar –  550 Euro
  • Extra hunting days can be added for 700 Euro per hunter per day
  • Non hunters cost 500 Euro per day

DAILY RATES INCLUDE

  • Hunting guide, all meals, soft drinks, hunting vehicle, accommodation, field preparation of trophies.
  • The use of a washing machine if you need it.

EXLUDES / EXTRA CHARGES

  • Alcohol @ cost price.
  • Dip and pack of trophies @ 500 Euro per skull.
  • Cost of trophy export/freight.
  • Road transfer fee 250 Euro per person.
  • Air charter +- 3000 Euro including both directions, incudes up to 4 persons.
  • Rifle hire 250 Euro per hunter for the full safari plus ammunition at cost price, calibres available: 375, 404 and 9.3×74. (Rifle hire is recommended)
  • Hunters bringing own rifle must pay 400 Euro per person rifle permit application fee, permits take 60 days to get.

BOOKING TERMS

  • Wounded animals are to be paid for in full.
  • Deposit required to book is 4000 Euro per hunter, balance payable 45 days before the start of the hunt.
  • Deposit per non hunter 500 Euro.
  • Deposits are not refundable.
  • Date changes will only be considered and agreed where possible.


















LOTSANE SAFARIS BOTSWANA

For those of you that don’t already know, we have a 10,000+ hectare game ranch in Botswana that is a wonderful place to hunt plains game and to have a great week or more in the bush, on our Botswana property we host clients from all over the world that come to enjoy Botswana and have a great hunt in the African bush, apart from the traditional client hunts that we offer, we are well geared for corporate hunts and Dads and lads / dads and daughters hunts, Dad’s take advantage of the fact that we don’t charge young children daily rates, bring your children… Come and hunt with us. DEAR HUNTING FRIENDS

I hope this Take Aim Safaris newsletter finds you well, in fact I hope that you are off hunting somewhere or getting ready to attend the hunting shows to book your next hunt, sadly this time I won’t see you there.

Since my last newsletter in July of 2022 my clients have had some great hunts in Zimbabwe and also in Botswana. I attach some photos for you have a look at the trophy quality and hopefully get you ready to book your next hunt.

Exiting the financial services industry, I started Take Aim Safaris in 2007 to follow my passion for hunting, specifically big game hunting on a free-range fair chase basis, the last 15 years of my life (I am 50 this year) have been dedicated to the hunting industry that has treated me well, my own hunting opportunities exceeded my expectations, I completed the big 5, having hunted most of them many times over, I went on to sell many 100s of big game hunts, too many to count and of no real relevance in the here and now, perhaps a book one day when things slow down… do they ever?

I have decided to retire from the big game hunting industry for so many reasons, in the end too many to mention, suffice to say that I end my career with my good reputation in tact and on a high note. Thank you to all friends and clients..

For the past 18 months I have been living in and working in Botswana, developing a luxury lodge and game reserve for a European family, I intend to continue to work in Botswana for some time, what a beautiful country.

I remain in the wildlife industry and am committed to hunting as a conservation tool, I remain a proud hunter and I proudly teach my sons how to hunt.

In time to come I plan to offer hunts on our property in Botswana, plains game hunts from a luxury lodge, hope to see you soon.
