DEAR HUNTING FRIENDS
I trust this newsletter finds you well.
This is your personal invitation to hunt the Gonarezhou Safari Areas of Zimbabwe, please come and join Take Aim Safaris in the Best of the Best Zimbabwean hunting areas.
This newsletter is dedicated to the Gonarezhou safari areas, the hunting season has started well, here are some photos of recent hunts and also the Gonarezhou camps that you will be staying in if you book your hunt with TAS.
When you hunt the Gonarezhou you are primarily hunting for trophy Elephant bulls in the +70 pound per tusk weight range and also for dagga boy Buffalos that are 12 years old and older, like these beautiful dagga boys that were all recently hunted. In addition to Elephants and Buffalo, we have Hippo, Crocodile and Leopard on quota. Our Leopard hunts are amongst the best in Africa, come and hunt with us Bwana. Not many trophy Elephant bull areas also offer the possibility of Buffalo, Leopard, Hippo and Crocodile on the same hunt.
For those of you that don’t know about the Gonarezhou hunting areas in Zimbabwe allow me to offer you more information please, for those that do know, here is a refresher:
The Gonarezhou National Park (GNP) is situated in the South Eastern corner of Zimbabwe (SEE ATTACHED MAP), the GNP is open and unfenced to the Kruger National Park (KNP) and also open and unfenced to the Mozambique National Park (MNP) these National Parks are collectively known as the TransFrontier National Park, wild animals roam freely between these National Parks, the Gonarezhou safari areas/hunting areas are adjoined directly to these national parks, there is no fence between the parks and the hunting areas, the gene pool that exists in these National Parks, especially for Elephant and Buffalo is the best in Southern Africa.

When you hunt these areas, especially in the case of Elephant you are hunting for 70 pounder + bulls with unbroken, long, thick and symmetrical tusks, the kind that look beautiful in your collection room, other areas that offer you a chance at a big Elephant bull mostly have short thick tusks that are often broken, again I say it: We offer you a chance at a typical looking traditional Elephant bull with LONG, THICK and SYMMETRICAL tusks, what I refer to as the Kruger gene in Elephant bulls, magnificent bulls with beautiful tusks.
When it comes to Buffalo, you will be hunting for dagga boys that live in bachelor groups, they live comfortably in these bachelor groups since lion populations are very low in our areas. Buffalo bulls leave the safety of the big herds that they would otherwise live in in areas with lots of Lions, hunting free range dagga boys from bachelor herds is the purest form of Buffalo hunting.
We hunt for Buffalo bulls that are 12 years old and older, we often shoot bulls in the 42 to 46 inch range and we don’t charge more for them when we do, we have one price for Buffalo and we want the biggest and best age appropriate bull we can find for you, it will not happen that you see the bull of your dreams and you are told you can’t shoot him because he is too big… That is not how we hunt and not what we sell, this applies to Buffalo and Elephant.
If you are considering a heavy ivory Elephant bull hunt please follow this link to see some of the nearly 200 bulls my clients have hunted to date, when you book with Take Aim Safaris you are booking with an expert safari company that is a fact:

WHAT YOUR TYPICAL HUNTING DAY LOOKS LIKE WHEN YOU HUNT THE GONAREZHOU
You will be woken up at around 4am with coffee and a light breakfast, you will get to enjoy the beautiful African Sunrise, your hunt starts at around 5am each morning.
You hunt until 11,30 am then break for lunch and a relax period in the middle of the day, lunch is either prepared at camp or a lunch in the hunting field, this depends on how far from camp you are hunting, after lunch you either relax in camp or under a tree until around 3pm then hunt again until sundown, after that its back to camp for a hot shower.
Then dinner at around 19,30pm, the next day the same program starts again. We only hunt in the day, no night hunting except for leopard from a blind at night.
The Gonarezhou hunting areas are flat ground, no mountain climbing is required, if you can walk 2 hours in the morning session and 2 hours in the afternoon session at a relaxed/hunting/tracking pace then you are fit enough to hunt the Gonarezhou safari areas.
TO TRAVEL TO GONAREZHOU HUNTING AREAS, THESE ARE YOUR OPTIONS:
- Fly to Johannesburg/OR Tambo then charter with a light aircraft directly to Chiredzi / Buffalo Range International (for charters) Airport then it’s a short drive to camp, Take Aim Safaris can/will handle the charter booking for you.

TERMS OF BUSINESS:
We operate under fair business practice, we offer fair terms to you the hunter: If you don’t shoot your bull you don’t pay for it. You don’t pay permit fees, you don’t pay concession fees, you don’t pay Government licence fees or any of the extra charges that you would be charged in other African countries until you shoot your bull.
With us you pay your daily rates and transport to camp only until you shoot your bull, once you shoot your bull you pay the trophy fee.
If you don’t see the bull you like then don’t shoot, you then pay only your daily rates. Our success rate is well over 90%, we deliver results and a professional safari, in the best of the best Zimbabwean hunting areas.
I recently had a client tell me he booked a 10 day $100,000 elephant hunt in another Southern African country and did not shoot his bull, he only got a $10,000 refund, that won’t happen with us, if you don’t shoot, you don’t pay the trophy fee, no exceptions.
